Company Description Manos Home Care Manos provides in-home and community-based services to support individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. We serve clients across Northern California. We provide: Spanish-speaking and other multilingual support Supportive Independent Living Skills (ILS) instruction Role Description The Human Resources Generalist is a full-time, on-site role based in Oakland, CA. This position partners across departments acting as the bridge between our remote workforce and our leadership team. The ideal candidate will display strengths in employee relations, benefits, protected leave, talent management, talent acquisition, compliance and reporting. This dynamic individual will act as a thought partner to leadership and reports to the Director of Human Resources. Acts as a representative for our values, enhancing the agency culture through actions. Serves as the designated main point of contact for employee inquiries regarding policies and best practices. Fosters a positive work environment which supports employee engagement. Administers employee benefits programs. Administers leave of absence process including FMLA, PFL, CFRA as well as worker’s compensation and requests for work accommodations. Maintains accurate leave records. Coordinates the talent management process including periodic performance evaluations. Supports the talent acquisition process including career fairs, recruitment, hiring and onboarding. Creates a professional new hire “experience”. Help plan and implement initiatives to enhance employee engagement, recognition, and retention. Promotes and attends agency events. Supports agency training initiatives around compliance, safety, and belonging. Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local labor laws, safety regulations, and industry standards. Acts in the best interest of the organization. Additional duties as assigned. Education and Experience Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology or a related field. HR certifications are a plus. At minimum, 2 years of HR Generalist experience. Experience with HRIS/ATS systems is required. Paycom is highly desirable. Required Skills/Abilities Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and/or GoogleSuite. Knowledgeable of Human Resources practices including federal, state and local laws. Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team. Experience working with culturally diverse staff required. Possesses high degree of attention to detail and strong written and verbal communication skills. Comfortable presenting information in a group setting. Able to balance multiple assignments in a fast-paced work environment while meeting deadlines. Ability to exercise discretion and confidentiality, maintaining professionalism at all times. Acts as a role model within the organization. Must be able to remain move and/or stationary for a prolonged period of time. Employee is regularly required to use hands to type on a keyboard as well as communicate with fellow employees and communicate clearly on the telephone. Most duties will be performed in an administrative setting. Education and Experience Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology or a related field preferred. HR certifications are a plus. At minimum, 2 years of HR Generalist experience. Spanish speaking is a plus.
