Role Responsibilities: Identify and troubleshoot a variety of difficult mechanical problems with limited supervision Define, coordinate, perform and document engineering test reports  Develop, design, or modify mechanical engineering layouts, schematics, or drawings/specifications Perform engineering analysis of difficult scope with limited supervision Technically lead or execute projects; develop key suppliers and generate mechanical product specifications Design, develop and implement custom mechanical tooling, fixturing and associated processes; enable the handling, assembly and/or disassembly of parts, components, sub-assemblies, and final assemblies; establish standards across all operational processes Implement concepts for a variety of complex product issues and mechanical solutions Clearly communicate complex or sensitive information; build consensusMinimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree4-7 years of experienceDemonstrated experience with CAD software, thermodynamics, sheet metal design, material selection, manufacturing methods, GD&T, flow analysis and/or Design for Excellence principleDemonstrated experience designing mechanical systems using motors, actuators, bearings, guides, linkages, or motion mechanisms.Experience taking designs from concept through prototype, qualification, and production release.Ability to independently troubleshoot difficult mechanical issues.Preferred Qualifications: Knowledge of the Applied Materials product life cycle, including prototyping, packaging, material selection and manufacturing methods  Experience designing semiconductor, display, automation, robotics, or capital-equipment systems.Experience with vacuum-compatible mechanisms, cleanroom equipment, particle-sensitive systems, or high-temperature hardware.Experience with NX, Inventor or comparable CAD and motion-analysis software.Additional InformationTime Type:Full timeEmployee Type:Assignee / RegularTravel:Yes, 10% of the TimeRelocation Eligible:YesThe salary offered to a selected candidate will be based on multiple factors including location, hire grade, job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and with consideration of internal equity of our current team members.
