Senior Software Engineer - Global Servicing Technology

Provide thought leadership, engineering expertise and direction to engineering teams Collaborate with business stakeholders, product teams, and cross-functional technology groups to drive continuous delivery Analyze and elaborate user stories; design and develop software applications Test and build automation tools Own architecture, design, and development of assigned applications Write code and API specifications, develop proofs of concept, conduct code reviews, and test during ongoing sprints Drive consistent development practices, tools, and common components Develop deep understanding of integrations with systems and platforms in supported domains Work with technical product managers on blueprints and annual feature-set planning Identify opportunities to adopt new technology and anticipate future challenges Communicate solution design effectively to internal and external business partners Requirements Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Science Engineering, or related field required 8+ years of commercial software development experience Proficiency with distributed/multi-tier systems and application development Excellent programming skills in Java and Python Hands-on experience with Spring Boot, microservices, Kafka, relational and/or NoSQL databases Experience developing and hosting solutions on Google Cloud Platform, including Google Cloud Storage, BigQuery, and Vertex AI Experience with Agile development, Continuous Integration, and Continuous Delivery Working knowledge of CI/CD pipeline tools Experience with automated release management using Maven, Salt, Git, and Jenkins Strong architecture design and modeling skills for complex systems and architectures Understanding of web technologies including and Apache Familiarity with Unix/Linux Understanding of data structures, algorithms, and design patterns Knowledge and experience of contact center ecosystem/Genesys Framework and Architecture preferred Experience building and integrating AI/ML solutions into production systems Familiarity with TensorFlow and PyTorch Hands-on experience with Generative AI technologies, LLMs, prompt engineering, and AI-powered application development Experience using Vertex AI for model development, deployment, and monitoring Awareness of responsible AI practices, including model governance, bias mitigation, and explainability Strong written communication, documentation, leadership, collaboration, and stakeholder-influence abilities Employment eligibility to work with American Express in the United States required; visa sponsorship will not be pursued Core Competencies Demonstrates expertise in software architecture, design, and development, with a strong focus on Java, Python, and cloud technologies.
