About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Intensive Care Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years of ICU experience License: Required Certifications: BCLS, ACLS Must-Have: - Epic experience required - Interpretation and management of dysrhythmias - Blood product administration - Care of ventilated patients Description: The role focuses on providing high-quality nursing care in an intensive care unit setting. The nurse will manage complex patient conditions, including multi-system organ failure. Daily patient ratios are maintained at 1:2 for optimal care. The average daily census is approximately 21 patients, with a maximum of 25 beds in the unit. The nurse will be responsible for administering IV medications, including titrating cardiac and vasoactive drips. Care includes maintaining central lines and managing PICC lines. The nurse will perform arterial line management and blood gas interpretation. Infection prevention and isolation precautions must be strictly followed. Nurses will draw their own phlebotomy samples. Teamwork and collaboration with interdisciplinary support services are essential. The position requires flexibility, and the nurse may float within service lines as needed. Teaching hospital experience and travel experience are preferred but not mandatory. Orientation includes training on the electronic charting system. Continuing education and skills development are encouraged.
