Base Pay $18.27 - $24.62 / Hour Job Category Part-time, Off-campus , Governor's Office of Land Use & Climate Innovation Employee Type Student Assistant Required Degree High school Manage Others No Description The Governor’s Office of Land Use and Climate Innovation (LCI) is seeking to hire one student assistant for the Accounting Office, Travel unit. The student assistant will handle a variety of tasks, with a focus on travel reimbursements. The student will be responsible for reviewing detailed account coding in the California Automated Travel Expense Reimbursement System (CalATERS). The state reimbursement system, in the Statewide accounting system, reviews basic claim information and subtasks in TEA packages against CalATERS interfaced vouchers on the Financial Information System for California (FI$Cal), and other duties as required. Responsibilities Key journal vouchers to add subtasks/GL journals to correct higher-level coding, if needed. Add TEA package to Fi$Cal vouchers. Key prepaid travel expenses. Maintaining logs, CalATERS claims onto the claim tracker. Aid in the maintenance of the CalATERS Table. Miscellaneous other duties. Qualifications Minimum Qualifications Punctual, flexible, follow directions, dependable, and have great time management and organizational skills. Work independently and in a team environment. Basic knowledge of accounting principles and financial record keeping. Great eye for detail and analytical work. Knowledge of office methods, procedures, and equipment. Knowledge of MS Excel and Microsoft Office applications. Preferred Qualifications Successful completion of classes such as Accounting Fundamentals and Managerial Accounting. Prerequisites Students must be enrolled in at least: 6 semester units or 9 quarter units for undergraduate students; 4 semester units or 6 quarter units for graduate students. Students declared major must match the major(s) listed in the job posting. Majors/Fields of Study Business Administration: Accounting, Economics or Finance. Work Schedule Flexible workdays and work hours, Monday – Friday, between 8 AM – 5 PM. The final work schedule will be determined by the supervisor. Additional Work Schedule Student Assistant and Graduate Assistant employees generally work up to 24 hours per workweek (Sunday – Saturday) during the academic year and up to 40 hours per workweek during breaks; (winter, spring, and summer). Compensation $18.27 to $24.62 per hour. Physical Requirements Sit for extended periods; frequently stand and walk; manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination; corrected hearing and vision to normal range; verbal communication; use of office equipment, including computer workstations, telephones, calculators, copiers, printers, and scanners, with or without reasonable accommodation. Working Conditions Work is performed in a hybrid environment. Students/Employees will be required to work according to the current UEI remote workplace policy and sign a UEI Work from Home Agreement.
