Director, Safety Data Science

Johnson & Johnson seeks a Director of Safety Data Science to lead advanced analytics, AI, and machine learning initiatives within Global Medical Safety. The role combines technical expertise in data science with people leadership, driving the development of analytical solutions that enhance medical safety decision-making and operational effectiveness.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deploy advanced analytics, AI, and machine learning solutions supporting Global Medical Safety objectives
• Lead project teams to deliver scalable analytical products, platforms, and decision-support capabilities
• Establish data pipelines, analytical assets, dashboards, and applications enabling data-driven decision-making
• Provide scientific and technical leadership across safety and operational analytics, including predictive analytics and risk assessment
• Build and mentor analytics talent while fostering innovation, collaboration, and continuous organizational capability development

Requirements

• PhD in Statistics, Biostatistics, Data Science, Computer Science, Mathematics, or related quantitative field; Master's with significant relevant experience acceptable
• Extensive experience leading advanced analytics, machine learning, AI, or data science functions
• Background in medical safety, pharmacovigilance, real-world evidence, or healthcare analytics required
• Demonstrated ability to build end-to-end analytical solutions from data acquisition through deployment
• Proven track record leading cross-functional teams and translating technical insights for stakeholder audiences
• Experience with predictive modeling, quality monitoring, risk assessment, and decision-support systems
• Knowledge of emerging analytical technologies and methodologies in healthcare domain
