Position Overview

Marine Technicians report to the Service Manager and play an essential role in the daily operations of our Service Department. You'll work on a wide variety of boats, engines, and marine systems while expanding your technical knowledge through hands-on experience and manufacturer-supported training.

Primary Responsibilities

· Perform electrical diagnostics and troubleshoot marine systems.

· Remove, repair, and reinstall engines, transoms, and outdrives.

· Disassemble units and inspect components for wear and damage.

· Overhaul or replace carburetors, blowers, generators, distributors, starters, pumps, electrical, and fuel systems.

· Rebuild engine components, including cylinder blocks and outdrives.

· Install and repair marine electronics and accessories.

· Complete repairs efficiently using the service scheduling system.

· Maintain current manufacturer certifications.

· Participate in manufacturer training and certification programs (paid by Goodhue).

· Deliver exceptional internal and external customer service.

· Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

· Strong attention to detail.

· Experience servicing marine engines and systems.

· Manufacturer certifications (Mercury, Volvo, Yamaha, etc.) preferred.

· Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills.

· Excellent communication and organizational skills.

· Positive attitude with a willingness to learn.

· Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

· Commitment to delivering exceptional customer service.

Education & Licensing

· Minimum of two years of experience in a repair or service facility, or completion of a vocational/high school automotive or marine technology program.

· High School diploma or equivalent.

· Valid Driver's License required.

· Boater's License preferred.

Physical Requirements

· Ability to lift up to 70 pounds.

· Ability to climb ladders.

· Ability to work in confined spaces.

· Ability to work in a fast-paced service environment.

Schedule

· Five-day work week

· Monday-Friday during the off-season

· Weekend rotation during peak season

· Overtime available
