Emergency Medicine Physician Assistant

Emergency Medicine Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant locum opportunity in Kingsport, Tennessee , and I wanted to see if you might be interested!

• Location: Kingsport, Tennessee
• Start Date: October 17, 2026
• Duration: Ongoing coverage
• Schedule: 12-hour APP shifts, with flexible scheduling based on department needs
• Call: No call required
• Setting: High-acuity community hospital emergency department
• Annual Patient Volume: Approximately 25,000 ED visits
• EMR: Epic
• Practice Model: Collaborative, physician-led team with 24-hour emergency physician coverage

Responsibilities:

• Provide comprehensive emergency medicine care to patients in a high-acuity emergency department.
• Work collaboratively with emergency medicine physicians to assess, diagnose, and treat patients.
• Utilize strong clinical assessment and procedural skills while managing patients independently within the appropriate scope of practice.

Qualifications:

• Board-certified Nurse Practitioner (AANP/ANCC) or Physician Assistant (NCCPA).
• Active, unrestricted Tennessee license appropriate to your provider type.
• Active DEA registration with a Tennessee address and required prescriptive authority.
• Current ACLS and PALS certifications.
• Two years of recent emergency medicine or related specialty experience preferred; new graduates may be considered based on department needs.
• Epic experience preferred.
• Ability to meet facility credentialing and privileging requirements.
