If you take pride in preparing food with care and want your work to truly matter, we’d love to meet you.Schedule: 4 days per week (with one weekend day) | 6:00am–5:30pm | Full-Time Rate of Pay: Competitive, based on experienceAbout Our CommunityIris Memory Care is a small, freestanding memory care assisted living community conveniently located in N Oklahoma City. All of our residents live with Alzheimer’s or another form of dementia, and as an age-in-place community, you’ll prepare meals for residents across the full spectrum of the disease.What You’ll DoPrepare and serve meals to residents within scheduled times, with attention to quality, presentation, and efficient serviceConducts inventory, purchasing, storing, and preparation of food according to the provided menus and regulations.With the Executive Director, establishes departmental goals and objectives.Plans and administers departmental budget, including staffing levels.Maintain food quality, proper quantities, and sanitation throughout the kitchenKeep the kitchen and food storage areas clean, organized, and safeKnow residents’ food needs and preferences, coordinating with care staff as neededFollow established menus and adjust recipes with guidance from the consultant dietician to meet residents’ nutritional needsInspect food for quality, temperature, and appearance before serving; offer substitutions as neededMaintain coolers, meal service records, and required documentationFollow all local, state, and corporate health, sanitation, and infection control requirementsReport food service concerns or kitchen inspection issues, with a plan for correctionHelp train team members on daily kitchen sanitation practicesWhat We’re Looking ForOne to two years’ experience in a similar position preferred.Supervisory experience in dealing with older adults and their food needs preferred.One to two years of similar food service experience preferredWorking knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulationsServSafe certification, or ability to complete an approved courseSupervisory experience with older adults’ food needs preferredAbility to prepare and serve a wide variety of foods skillfullyHigh school diploma/GED or equivalent preferredReliable attendance and ability to work with minimal supervisionAbility to lift up to 50 lbs occasionally and 35 lbs regularly, with frequent pushing, pulling, bending, walking, reaching, and stoopingAnnual verification of a negative TB skin testAvailability to work weekends, evenings, and holidays as neededPositive, team-oriented attitudeWhy Iris Memory Care?Our residents deserve more than a meal — they deserve food made with care by someone who understands how much it matters.
