Job Summary: Prepares simple and routine plans designs and calculations by following standard engineering practices and procedures.

Responsibilities:

Prepares simple and routine plans designs and calculations by following standard engineering practices and procedures.

Seeks code references and design direction from mentors.

Performs individual aspects of mechanical/plumbing engineering as it relates to individually assigned projects. This is inclusive of but not limited to the following:

• HVAC Split system/Package Heat Pumps Chilled Water/Hot Water

Hydronics Steam/Condensate Constant volume and variable volume air

distribution systems.

• Plumbing Medical gas systems Hot and cold water/waste and vent

systems Compressed air systems.

• Fire Protection Performance drawings and specification for wet pipe and dry pipe systems.

Independent problem-solving decision-making ability and application of engineering principles.

Performs self QC on work and plans for/seeks appropriate peer review of work.

Meets with Clients regarding electrical engineering design and projects.

Performs field work to document existing conditions.

Qualifications and Experience:

Educational Background: Bachelors or masters degree in mechanical engineering or an Architectural Engineering Degree

Certifications/Registrations: Passing Fundamentals of Engineering Exam preferred

Other Skills / Abilities:

• Ability to work in Revit/Microsoft Office/ HVAC Load Analysis Program (HAP or TRACE)
• Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
• Excellent customer service capabilities.
• Ability to work more than 40 hours per week to meet project deadlines.
• Ability to drive to project sites and perform customary field work.
• Must have a valid drivers license.
• Able to work in the United States.
• Process correspondence efficiently accurately and confidentially.
• Work independently and in a team environment

Location : Charleston SC

Travel : To project sites and to meet with clients
