Acute Care Occupational Therapist

The Acute Care Occupational Therapist will provide essential rehabilitation services within an acute care setting. Candidates must hold a valid state license prior to the start date. A completed fingerprint clearance card is necessary as part of the licensing process. The role requires managing a caseload of 8 to 11 patients daily. Candidates will be expected to work 4 days a week from Monday to Thursday. No weekend shifts are required, and there is no on-call duty. Floating to other units is not expected. Staff members are required to adhere to established quality and patient safety standards. The facility values interdisciplinary support and aims to provide comprehensive care. Candidates should demonstrate confidence in managing moderate to maximum assistance patients. Working knowledge of charting systems is preferred. Job responsibilities include assessments, evaluations, safety planning, and re-evaluations. Candidates must be prepared to assist with co-treatments and additional evaluations as necessary. Upon assignment, candidates should be available for potential holiday shifts as scheduled. All employees must comply with testing and documentation requirements prior to starting. The department operates seven days a week, emphasizing support for diverse patient diagnoses. Candidates should exhibit adaptability and the willingness to enhance their skills in an acute care environment.

Experience: Minimum of 1 year License: Required state license, BLS, fingerprint clearance card Certifications: BLS, fingerprint clearance card, Manual therapy Must-Have: - Acute Care experience - Experience with adaptive equipment - Knowledge in diverse patient conditions such as arthritis, CVA rehabilitation, dementia, spinal cord injury, and traumatic brain injury - Ability to conduct assessments and discharge planning - Skills in patient and family education
