Sr. Controls Technician - Special Projects

Role Overview Support Trane Technologies in providing sustainable climate solutions through hands‑on commissioning, programming, graphics setup, and troubleshooting of building automation systems. Key Responsibilities Commissioning, programming, and setting up graphics for Niagara Framework-based systems. Installing communications link, testing end‑to‑end systems, troubleshooting, and servicing assigned projects. Documenting point‑to‑point verification, validating sequence of operations, and completing job close‑out documentation. Act as the primary customer contact, ensuring satisfaction by diagnosing and repairing equipment and systems onsite. Coordinate with team leader and customer to understand installation and repair requirements, evaluate building layouts, forecast issues, gather materials, and synchronize onsite work. Maintain knowledge of Trane and Niagara products related to installation, operation, maintenance, service, and repair of direct digital control systems. Enforce safety standards and maintain security and accountability of company assets. Work flexible hours, including overtime, weekends, and occasional overnight stays as required. Required Qualifications High School Diploma or equivalent, or certificate from an accredited technical school. Minimum 7 years of experience in HVAC/Controls. Experience with Niagara Framework commissioning, programming, graphics setup, integration and troubleshooting. Operating knowledge of Microsoft Office and handheld devices (smartphone, iPad). Valid driver’s license for at least 12 months with a clean driving record (no major or frequent violations). Experience with direct digital control (DDC) systems preferred. Compensation Hourly: $33.84 – $51.49. Pay varies with seniority, merit, location, education, experience, and travel requirements.
