Why Sterile Processing Technicians Choose This Role Play an essential role in patient safety and infection prevention Support surgical and procedural teams throughout the hospital Work in a collaborative, team-focused environment Build expertise in sterilization, instrumentation, and quality standards Enjoy a consistent mid-shift schedule Facility: Kernersville Medical Center | Location: Kernersville, NC | Position Type: Full-Time | Work Schedule: Day Shift, 9:00 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. What You’ll Do Decontaminate, clean, inspect, assemble, and sterilize surgical instruments and medical equipment Prepare and package instrument sets according to established procedures Inspect instruments for cleanliness, functionality, and completeness Operate sterilization equipment and monitor sterilization processes Maintain accurate documentation and follow infection prevention and safety standards Ensure instruments and equipment are available and ready to support patient care What We’re Looking For Education: High School Diploma or GED, required. Experience:One year of experience in a hospital Sterile Reprocessing Department, preferred. Licensure/Certification: Sterile Reprocessing Tech certification, required. CBSPD, CRCST or CSPDT, required. Additional Skills (required): Ability to successfully complete generic and department-specific skills validation and competency testing. Demonstrates knowledge of instrumentation and sterile/aseptic technique. Ability to read and comprehend written instructions to assemble instrument sets and trays.
