JOIN OUR TEAM!Vera French Community Mental Health Center is home to two 15-bed Residential Care Facilities that provides protective oversight for adults experiencing mental health challenges. Our Residential Nurses provide direction in the delivery of nursing care through quality, accessible, and healthy living solutions. The Nurse directs other staff members in the implementation of individual treatment plans, and nursing practices. If you are looking for a nursing avenue in the mental health field this position is for you! We are currently looking for a Full-time Residential Nurse.WHAT YOU'LL DO:Routinely function in the charge nurse position and direct other personnel in the performance of their dutiesWithin the limits of the Iowa Administrative Code, plan and direct other personnel in the implementation of independent and dependent nursing functions and interventions utilizing best nursing practices and individualized treatment plans as guidelines.Provide leadership in the delivery of general nursing dutiesAccurately transcribe physician orders, administer medications and prescribed treatments, observe and report resident responses, and complete documentation.Participate in the development and implementation of the resident Treatment PlanProvide teaching according to resident treatment plans.Provide appropriate interventions to teach clients skills involving activities of daily living, community integration, functional, social, advocacy, and skills to promote physical and emotional health.Help to maintain the safety of residents, staff, and visitors.Strive to provide the highest quality services possibleWHAT YOU'LL NEED: Associate degree in Nursing required, Bachelor's degree preferredA valid license as a Licensed Practical Nurse or Registered Nurse in the state of IowaAbility to relate in a respectful, constructive manner with excellent written & verbal communication skillsAbility to pass a pre-employment physical with a drug and alcohol screenLearn and Grow: Vera French offers various in-house training opportunities CPR, Medication Management and other trainings through our learning management system.
