The Assistant Principal serves as an instructional and operational leader who partners with the Principal to advance student achievement and success, strengthen instructional practices, support staff development, and ensure effective school operations. This position promotes a positive school culture, leads continuous improvement efforts, ensures compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and organizational policies, and collaborates with students, families, and school leaders to create an engaging, equitable, and high-performing virtual learning environment that advances organizational priorities.
This is a full-time position. Ability to work independently, typically 40 hours per week is required. Ability to maintain a professional home office without distraction during workday, typically 8-4 or as defined by the school Salary range: $80,000-$100,000 base salary Essential Functions

- Assists in the development, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of school improvement initiatives aligned with organizational priorities and student achievement goals.
- Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local laws, board policies, organizational procedures, and accountability requirements.
- Utilizes student, staff, and operational data to monitor school performance, identify trends, and guide continuous improvement and informed decision making.
- Coordinates school operations including scheduling, staffing assignments, student records, safety procedures, crisis response, and other administrative functions that support effective school operations.
- Supports the implementation of rigorous, standards-aligned instruction by collaborating with instructional leaders to strengthen teaching practices, intervention systems, and academic supports.
- Partners with the Principal to monitor instructional quality through classroom observations, coaching conversations, performance evaluations, and actionable feedback.
- Analyzes student achievement, assessment, attendance, engagement, and instructional data to monitor progress, identify needs, and improve student outcomes.
- Assists in evaluating curriculum resources, instructional programs, and state assessment implementation to ensure alignment with organizational expectations and state standards.
- Supervises, supports, and evaluates assigned staff in accordance with organizational expectations, state evaluation requirements, and applicable regulations.
- Provides ongoing coaching, mentoring, professional feedback, and professional learning opportunities that strengthen instructional practice, leadership capacity, and organizational consistency.
- Assists with the recruitment, onboarding, mentoring, and retention of highly qualified staff.
- Partners with students, families, and staff to resolve concerns, strengthen communication, and foster positive relationships that support student success.
- Supports the implementation of Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS), student intervention processes, attendance initiatives, and student success planning.
- Collaborates with Student Services and cross-functional teams to ensure students receive appropriate academic, behavioral, and specialized supports.
- Supports compliance with requirements related to special education, English learner services, student records, state assessments, and other federal and state programs.
- Maintains required documentation and participates in audits, monitoring activities, accreditation efforts, and continuous improvement processes.
- Completes all required professional development, Pennsylvania Department of Education training, and other duties as assigned.
- Master's degree AND Five (5) years of educational experience OR
- Equivalent combination of education and experience
- Meets all criteria for employment in a PA public school, including satisfactory PA child abuse, PA criminal record, and FBI background check reports.
- All PDE required clearances for school-based personnel.
- Great organizational and time management skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Adaptable technology skills
- Experience using search engines (internet) for research projects
- Experience using a student information system and/or other type of database
- Demonstrated competencies with general technology, Microsoft Office Platforms (Outlook, Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Teams, etc.), Google Platforms, Zoom, etc.
- Previous experience as an online educator
- Previous administrative experience

- This is a home-based position. When office days are required, the noise level in the office is usually moderate (computers, printers, light foot traffic).
- This position will include limited travel and will include limited overnight travel. This is estimated to be less than 20% of the time. Travel will be required for meetings, community events, professional development and/or state testing.
