Assistant Bakery Manager

Responsibilities Assist the Bakery Manager in managing and merchandising the department for maximum productivity and profit. Responsible for ordering and inventory controls, product quality, and supervision of the Bakery team. Execute rotation of merchandise and build displays. Monitor in‑coming cases for damaged items. Ensure the delivery of excellent customer service and monitor the quality of Bakery product. Unload and sort store deliveries, operate, and maintain deli equipment. Ensure the execution of all company health, safety, and sanitation guidelines/regulations, and verify that other Bakery team members follow these procedures. Thrive in a fast‑paced environment. Qualifications Be at least 18 years of age with a minimum of two years of retail grocery experience and two years of supervisory experience. Be dependable and reliable with the ability to work a flexible schedule that changes, including nights, weekends, and holidays. Have an outgoing and friendly behavior, a positive attitude, and the ability to interact with customers. Excellent communication skills and the ability to give and take direction in a team environment. Be able to answer phones and take special orders. Maintain general housekeeping; clean and sanitize work area (tables, floor, walls, cases, cooler, freezer, etc.). Operate and use knives, scales, wrappers, compactors, garbage disposals, pallet jacks, and hand trucks as needed; accurately weigh and label products. Stand for up to 3 hours continuously, for a total of 8 hours per shift; lift or transfer items up to 40 lbs. over distances up to 36 feet without mechanical assistance. Adhere to all safety, health, and weight & measures regulations and obtain a Food Handlers permit. Pay Range The pay range for this position is $17.80 – $24.90 per hour. Sprouts Farmers Market determines pay based on applicable experience and qualifications of the applicant.
