Mill Laborer

Mill Laborer Ashland, ME - Temp-to-Hire Opportunity Now seeking dependable Mill Laborers to join a well-established sawmill operation in Ashland. This is a great opportunity for individuals who enjoy hands-on work and want to build skills in an industrial production environment. Prior production and/or manufacturing experience is helpful, but not required. Benefits are available after temp-to-hire period. The Mill Laborer plays an essential role in daily operations by supporting the production of high-quality lumber products. This position involves operating and monitoring machinery, inspecting materials for quality, assisting with basic maintenance, and maintaining a safe and efficient workflow. Ideal candidate will have good communication skills, strong attention to detail, a commitment to safety, and the ability to work well in a fast-paced industrial setting. Responsibilities: Operate production machinery, such as saws, conveyors, and planers. Load/unload raw materials and finished products from equipment or work areas. Inspect finished lumber to ensure that products conform to quality standards. Keep work areas clean and organized. Assist with routine maintenance and troubleshooting of machinery. Follow all safety protocols and company procedures as directed by site supervisor. Notify management of any equipment malfunctions or safety concerns in a timely manner. Perform other relevant duties as requested by site supervisors. Job Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent education required. Prior machine operator experience helpful, but not required. Ability to operate machinery, stand for extended periods, and move/lift up to 50 lbs. unassisted Previous experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment is a plus. Background check required.
