Who is VMRC?

VMRC is a Christ-centered, nonprofit continuing care retirement community offering independent living, assisted living, skilled nursing, and memory care for older adults. It also provides wellness programs, educational opportunities, and arts and cultural activities for residents and the wider community.

This position is primarily responsible for providing basic hair care, including permanents, to residents able to receive hair care in a beauty shop or Woodland Park Home setting. Reports pertinent information to the immediate supervisor and assists the immediate supervisor with service line operational support.

Based on previous work experience and qualifications, the pay range is $18.24 - $24.24 per hour .

• Must be a high school graduate or equivalent
• Sufficient experience in the hair care field to meet the needs of older residents.
• Current license in Cosmetology in Virginia and at least 6 months of experience.
• Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English.
• Must be able to act and intervene independently in routine and emergencies, be self-motivated, and maintain positive relationships with residents and co-workers.
• Must be able to deal tactfully with residents, families, and the general public in a positive, professional, and customer-first manner.
• Must have the ability to understand and carry out oral and written assignments; ability to perform the duties listed in the job description with limited supervision.
• Self-motivated, able to schedule time wisely and accommodate changes.
