Role Description

This is a full-time hybrid position for a Personal Banking Officer, based in Coral Gables, FL, with the flexibility to work remotely part of the time. The Personal Banking Officer will focus on providing exceptional customer service, managing client relationships, and assisting clients with their financial needs. Daily tasks include financial planning, offering tailored banking solutions, maintaining thorough documentation, and collaborating with team members to achieve organizational goals.

SUMMARY OF FUNCTIONS:

This position provides support and information to clients in response to inquiries about their accounts, products, and services. The BO professionally handles incoming requests from clients and ensures that issues are resolved both promptly and thoroughly. Carefully and efficiently gather client information, access, and fulfill client needs, educate the client where applicable, to prevent the need for future contacts and document interactions as required. The BO troubleshoots client issues over the phone, using automated information systems to analyze the client’s situation. Strives to maintain a balance between company policy and client benefit in decision making. The BO will receive, document, and resolve client complaints.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES:

• Maintain and develop the portfolio of clients assigned, earning trust and generating business results to meet budget. 
• Ensures adequacy, efficiency, and timely update of the applicable operating procedures
• Continuously evaluate and identify opportunities to drive process improvements that positively impact the client’s experience.
• Responsible for coordinating and providing guidance on the “Visado” processes to ensure that new account applications and underlying documentation received from Ecuador processing centers are in conformity with the Agency's procedures and requirements
• Responsible for executing the business plan, meeting the year’s budget goals, while optimizing customer service
• Travel frequently to meet with clients and new prospects.

BUSINESS LEVEL SUPPORT

• Client Inquiries Support – Assist clients and obtain information regarding their account management
• Handles in-office visits, taking advantage to discuss any pending documentation issues and promptly documents the meeting in the ECS System
• Coordinate and obtain required documentation updates for accounts subject to periodic due diligence reviews, such as, personal and corporate financial information.

DOCUMENTATION LEVEL SUPPORT

• Responsible for validating new account applications and underlying CIP / CDD documentation guiding the client through the application process, to ensure smooth and efficient experience.
• Responsible for the documentation process of new/renewals Lines of Credit and Loans as approved. Validates accuracy and legitimacy of credit documentation provided, guiding the client through the process.
• Responsible for timely preparing documentation for new and/or renewal of Time Deposits and TD pledges, proactively coordinating with clients. Validates accuracy and legitimacy of documentation provided, guiding the client through the process.
• Handles account maintenance related among other to authorized signatures, closing procedures as per policy and/or RMs request, etc.
• Responsible for ensuring that all documentation is current and in conformity with regulatory and policy requirements (especially with respect to Bank Secrecy Act & Anti Money Laundering), ensuring adherence to Agency’s policies and procedures, regulations and sound banking practices.
• Coordinates with the clients and/or Head Office’s Officers to ensure that instrumentation of new or renewed business is performed accurately and timely.
• Responsible for maintaining Credit Files up to date, including timely obtaining time sensitive documents such as W-8 forms, beneficial ownership, and good standing certificates (Private Investment Companies "PIC"), etc.
• Responsible for the follow-up and timely resolution of documentation exceptions.

COMPLIANCE LEVEL SUPPORT

• Provides timely response to flags and profile exceptions detected by the ECS monitoring system, including individual transactions, patterns of unusual activities or deviations from expected activities. Requests assistance from the RM or Business Area Manager when necessary.
• Follow up date-sensitive documentation, documentation tasks and secures reception from the client.
• Write KYC part of the Due Diligence for personal and PIC accounts.
• Respond to Incoming Wires Inquiry.

SECONDARY DUTIES

• Any other related duties requested by Relationship Manager an/or Business Area Manager.
• Ensure compliance with BSA /Anti-Money Laundering regulations.
• Adherence to Bank / Agency’s policies and procedures.
• Adhere to Federal and State laws and regulations.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor’s degree in business or related field preferred
• 3-5 years Personal Banking accounts
• Bilingual English – Spanish (written and spoken)
• Strong communication, collaboration, and technical compliance skills.
• Should be able to work effectively with others at all levels
• 3+ years of KYC/Compliance experience
• Strong track record of effective sales, client solutions, and client satisfaction

Annual Base Salary: $70,000 - $80,000
