Work Schedule: Monday - Friday with rotating Saturdays

JOB SUMMARY:

The Driver, Truck (Non-CDL) - Laundry will travel using intercity routes including local roads, interstates, and highways. The Driver is responsible for the safe transportation of goods utilizing company vehicles (that do not require a Commercial Drivers License (CDL)); typically, cargo vans, box trucks under 26,000 lbs. gross vehicle weight (GVW), or similar. Due to frequent contact with internal and external customers, it is essential that Drivers provide excellent customer service in support of the organization’s mission.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Provide excellent customer service.
• Load/unload cargo and secure loads in accordance with company safety policies and State/local transportation regulations.
• Keep accurate records of the amount and type of cargo being delivered, along with any required company delivery logs.
• Conduct pre‑trip and post‑trip safety checks and inspections of the vehicle, reporting defects or mechanical issues to the Laundry General Manager.
• Plan travel routes effectively to ensure safety and timeliness.
• Cross‑train in other departments/areas and act as back‑up for other areas as required.
• Have the ability to support longer‑distance routes when needed, following company scheduling and safety guidelines.
• Possess familiarity with basic vehicle safety procedures, including proper use of equipment during inclement weather.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:

• A High School diploma or equivalent is preferred.

Experience:

• A minimum of two (2) years of general driving experience is preferred but not required.
• Must have an established safe driving record.

Other:

• Understanding of and adherence to State and local transportation rules and regulations.
• Able to read and follow maps/GPS.
• Able to communicate effectively with customers, managers, supervisors, staff, and peers.
• Able to lift up to 75 lbs. and use a dolly or pallet jack as required.
• Able to work a varied schedule that may include evenings, weekends, and holidays, with overtime as necessary.
• Where applicable in accordance with Military Installation requirements, the incumbent must pass a thorough background check per the Federal Contract*.
• Must have the ability to drive for company business using non‑CDL vehicles*.
• The incumbent will be required and must have the ability to drive for company business*.

*Per auto vehicle insurance carrier requirements: For applicants/employees to qualify for inclusion on the Goodwill driver insurance schedule, for purpose of driving Goodwill fleet vehicles, or for purpose of receiving company mileage reimbursement they must be at least:

• 21 years of age (not engaged in passenger transportation),
• 25 – 70 years of age for all passenger transportation services,
• 25 years of age for CDL.

Applicants/employee will be required to undergo a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) check and background check; applicants/employees must disclose all moving traffic violations or vehicle crashes (within the last five (5) years)(Note: not all violations are a disqualification for employment and each case will be reviewed by the insurance carrier); must have valid Colorado State driver license; must also be able to operate company vehicle, and adhere to all Federal, State, and local laws governing vehicle operation.

Applicants/employees using their personal vehicle for company business (receiving company mileage reimbursement), must have valid vehicle insurance, valid driver license, and vehicle must be in roadworthy condition.
