Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Night Shift | 3x12-hour shifts, 19:00–07:30 | Every other weekend and some holidays required | 4x12 schedule may be available upon request

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in an IMC/PCU/Stepdown setting, including telemetry monitoring for oncology, cardiac, and step-down patients
• Support the Thoracic Surgery unit as needed in addition to primary unit assignment
• Manage and monitor patients requiring ventilator support and transplant care
• Float to other units as operationally required
• Interpret cardiac rhythms accurately, including identification of lethal arrhythmias and heart blocks, in accordance with unit standards

Required Qualifications

• Active Wisconsin RN license or valid Compact RN license required
• BLS and ACLS certifications – American Heart Association (AHA) only
• Minimum of two years of acute care inpatient RN experience within the last three years in IMC/PCU/Stepdown or a directly related specialty
• Telemetry oncology, cardiac, and PCU/DOU/IMC/Stepdown experience required
• Ventilator and transplant experience required
• Must pass a telemetry competency exam prior to start (passing score of 80% or higher; 100% identification of lethal rhythms required; strict pass/fail criteria apply with up to three attempts permitted under defined conditions)
• Must live at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible — local candidates are not accepted

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience in thoracic surgery patient populations
• Familiarity with high-acuity step-down environments within a large academic or teaching hospital setting
• Flexibility with scheduling, including willingness to work holiday periods as assigned
