Gridnaut Recruiting seeks native Portuguese speakers from Portugal or Brazil with strong writing abilities for an AI research initiative. Freelancers will develop Portuguese/English prompt pairs to train and assess language models.
Location: Remote/Telecommute
Compensation: $12-$30 USD hourly
Duration: Approximately 2-4 months

Key Responsibilities:
- Multilingual Prompt Design & Optimization: Create detailed prompts in Portuguese and/or English with multiple constraints, ensuring natural phrasing and real-world applicability for Portuguese-speaking contexts.
- Define and Document Evaluation Standards: Establish response expectations for Portugal and Brazil consumer scenarios; develop rubrics accounting for linguistic nuance, tone, and regional cultural conventions.
- Model Testing and Grading: Execute prompts through models; assess outputs for accuracy, fluency, and cultural appropriateness in Portuguese, comparing against English versions as needed.
- Benchmarking & Quality Assurance: Participate in QA processes ensuring prompt tasks and rubrics meet rigor standards while maintaining consistency across Portuguese benchmarks.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Native-level Portuguese fluency (written); strong English reading/writing ability
- Native residency in Portugal or Brazil with substantial time living in-country
- Completed or in-progress BS/BA from reputable institution
- Strong writing and critical thinking capabilities
- Independent work ability and deadline management
- Significant ChatGPT or similar tool familiarity for personal use
- Portugal or Brazil location (or capability to produce culturally accurate regional Portuguese)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Teaching, research, editing, or academic writing experience
- Experience developing evaluation criteria, rubrics, or grading guidelines
- LLM, prompting, or model evaluation familiarity (not required)
Commitment: Minimum 20 hours weekly

DURATION
Contract, ongoing with potential for extension based on performance. Approximately 20 hours per week.
COMPENSATION
$21 per hour (hourly contract).
