Admissions Counselor

Hudson Valley Community College (HVCC) is located in scenic Upstate New York and offers more than 80 degree and certificate programs across its Troy and Malta campuses. It serves nearly 9,000 students annually and is a recognized leader in career and transfer preparation, workforce training, distance learning, and service to a diverse population. Hudson Valley seeks experienced, dynamic, and caring individuals to join the Admissions Department as an Admissions Counselor (HV-NTPI-8326). Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States without restrictions and must undergo a background check. Department: Admissions Admissions Counselor HV-NTPI-8326 Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university with experience in college admissions, post-secondary education, or student services. Master’s Degree preferred. Valid driver’s license and ability to travel extensively within a 75-mile radius of HVCC. Physical ability to lift and manage boxes of admission materials. Availability for occasional evenings and/or weekends. Duties and/or Responsibilities Develop and manage programs designed to increase enrollment in under‑enrolled programs. Develop a working knowledge of all academic programs at HVCC and the required pre‑requisites. Outreach to area high schools for classroom presentations in conjunction with academic departments. Review international documents and applications. Coordinate technology and/or group tours. Assist the Admissions Office with on‑ and off‑campus admission events. Conduct admission informational meetings and presentations for parents and student groups, both on and off campus. Liaise between Admissions and designated campus office(s). Maintain knowledge of BANNER CRM Recruit, read files, and enter decisions. Maintain membership in professional education‑related organizations. Assist other offices within the Division of Enrollment Management & Student Development as needed. Perform other related duties as assigned. This is a 12‑month, full‑time position with a salary range of $42,000‑$44,000.
