Head of Medical Capabilities

Position Overview RayzeBio, a wholly‑owned subsidiary of Bristol Myers Squibb, seeks a Head of Medical Capabilities to build and execute strategy for the launch of its radiopharmaceutical therapies. The role will shape the medical affairs organization, driving medical excellence and digital innovation. Key Responsibilities Lead, mentor and guide subject‑matter experts within medical capabilities and operations, including medical evidence generation operations (ISRs, Expanded Access Programs), medical publications and communications, congress planning, medical education and sponsorships, and core medical operations (budget, contracts, systems, SOPs). Define and execute a medical capabilities strategy across medical functions, leveraging AI and digital platforms to: Modernize medical information planning and delivery. Conduct promotional review. Optimize congress planning and execution. Enhance medical content, communications and publications workflows. Improve operational efficiency, compliance oversight and data quality across medical affairs. Liaise strategically with BMS and external partners to identify capability‑building opportunities, share best practices and unlock synergies. Act as a senior medical affairs leader and capabilities SME, monitoring emerging trends in medical innovation, compliance and excellence, and applying learnings to elevate team performance. Serve as the enterprise lead for medical AI and innovation, partnering cross‑functionally with Medical Affairs, Commercial, Legal & Compliance, IT and external collaborators to design, pilot and operationalize advanced digital and AI‑enabled solutions. Provide up to 25% travel as required and support remote work with periodic visits to the corporate office. Required Qualifications Advanced scientific degree (Masters, PhD or MD) or related discipline. 15+ years of experience in medical roles, including team leadership within medical functions. Oncology product launch experience preferred. Comprehensive knowledge of industry compliance and regulatory requirements. Track record of accountability, operational excellence and successful execution. Strong analytical, communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work collaboratively and influence across functions. Proficiency in strategic planning, annual planning and budgeting. Location & Travel Preferred locations: San Diego, CA or Princeton, NJ. Remote work is considered with travel to the corporate office. Up to 25% travel may be required. Compensation Overview Princeton, NJ: $241,768 – $292,966 annually. San Diego, CA: $261,110 – $316,404 annually. Additional incentive cash and equity opportunities may be available based on eligibility.
