Safety EngineerWe are seeking a dedicated and proactive Safety Engineer to join our Safety team on a temporary basis. This role is responsible for helping establish a safe workplace according to Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) construction industry standards, and for fostering a culture of attention to health and safety across our job sites.Essential FunctionsReasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.Job Site Safety & ComplianceOversees the safety of job sites and all staffConducts risk assessments and enforces preventative measuresIntervenes to stop any acts or processes that are unsafe or do not comply with EHS guidelinesInspects job sites to identify issues and/or non-conformityTraining & DevelopmentConducts CPR, First Aid, and Bloodborne Pathogens training for all staff as neededEstablishes or creates weekly toolbox talks and ensures complianceAssists with identifying and developing training programsAssists with coordinating guest safety speakersIncident Response & PolicyAssists with incident investigations and corrective actionsAssists with reviewing and maintaining existing policies and measures, updating them according to legislation and current practicesProvides regular reports and updates to the Safety ManagerSafety Operations & AdministrationAssists with quarterly safety meetings, including content and coordination of meeting spaceMaintains PPE supplies and orders as neededMaintains Safety Data Sheets (SDS)Operates vehicles and other equipment safely; adheres to safety protocols; reports hazards and risks; behavior contributes to a safe and secure working environmentCompetenciesFamiliarity with conducting data analysis and reporting statisticsAccuracy and attention to detailExcellent communication skillsKnowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, PowerPoint, Teams, Procore, and other programs as neededReceives and maintains CPR, First Aid, and Bloodborne Pathogens Instructor certification (other certifications as required)Supervisory ResponsibilityThere are no supervisory responsibilities associated with this role.Work EnvironmentThis job operates in an office and field environment; it may involve exposure to potentially hazardous materials and extreme temperatures. This role also routinely uses basic construction PPE and standard office equipment such as computers, phones, and copiers.TravelTravel is up to 50%, primarily to job sites within the immediate region.Physical DemandsWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls, reach with hands and arms, climb stairs, and talk or hear. Hours are based on field staff needs, including an on-call schedule.Required Education and ExperienceHigh school diploma and/or equivalent combination of education and experience3 years of relevant experience1–3 years of experience instructing or teaching, at minimum, CPR, First Aid, and Bloodborne Pathogens (or another form of instruction)Preferred Education and ExperienceBachelor of Science in Occupational Safety, or 4 years of equivalent work experienceConstruction experienceOSHA 510, OSHA 30, or OSHA 500
