The incumbent of this position serves as a Clinical Social Worker core service agency. Services provided may include diagnostics/assessment, counseling, crisis intervention, treatment plan, discharge planning, and liaison with community mental health.

The incumbent provides social work consultation and recommends therapeutic strategies as needed in arranging for follow-up care. Makes case presentations for a variety of reasons, including the resolution of problems in highly complex cases, and for the enhancement of staff skills, techniques, and performance.

Incumbent must have extensive professional knowledge of social work trends, techniques, methods, and issues. Must have a broad professional knowledge of psychiatric, psychological, and medical terminologies, and their clinical implications for the evaluation and treatment of adult psychiatric patients in order to serve as a member of the interdisciplinary team and perform work on difficult and highly complex cases.

QUALIFICATION:

Applicants must have successfully completed a course of study in an accredited School of Social Work and have fulfilled all the requirements for the Master’s Degree in Social Work.

Applicants must possess three (3) years of professional work experience.

Licensures, Certifications, and other requirements:

Applicants must be posses a LICSW, LPC, LGSW, or LGPC through the D.C. Department of Health.

Work Environment:
The work is generally performed in an office setting. This position involves exposure to the risks and hazards of working with clients with emotional and behavioral issues.
