Field Engineer

Strengthen every project.\n\n\nIn this role, you'll provide technical support and drive sales by partnering with designers and specifiers to solve complex challenges using Hilti solutions. You'll secure commitments for specification or approval of Hilti engineered products, consult on innovative designs, and help customers build smarter, stronger, and more sustainably-while protecting projects with sound engineering judgment. This is where collaboration meets impact, and your expertise shapes the future of construction.\n\nWhat You'll do\n\n Face to face, telephone, and electronic communication with territory salesperson, strategic business personnel, sales managers, contractors, designers, specifiers, or officials of codes and approvals\n Competent written communication with customers (buying and non-buying); such communication must be technically accurate, minimize Hilti's exposure, and demonstrate common sense problem solving capabilities\n Visit jobsites and company offices with or without salespeople or strategic business personnel to assess application problems, opportunities, and provide technical education and solutions\n Investigate product failures in the field and provide product management feedback on local issues as needed\n Investigate business opportunities in the field by participating in Customer Surveys as needed for product and market development\n Participate in local sales strategy development and at sales management review and improve sessions\n Obtain specifications and approvals for use of Hilti products, concentrating on high potential designers, specifiers, and owner groups\n Provide professional educational seminars and presentations for A/E firms to inform them of Hilti products, their performance characteristics, applications, and product limitations\n Provide competent recommendations to engineers, architects, and other designers on specific applications using sound engineering judgment; educate specifier on technical advantages of Hilti solutions not covered by test data\n Provide field testing to determine appropriate capabilities in situations not covered by test data\n Review project specifications or calculations for engineers and architects; provide feedback to designers regarding accuracy, suitability, and code compliance\n Utilizing software provided by Hilti, maintain accurate records of contacts and specifications; coordinate with salesforce to ensure that key opportunities are capitalized on\n Create and coordinate jobsite management within CRM system utilizing Hi Site; includes creation of specific jobsites, applications, and active participation in the monthly sales management meetings\n Communicate application specifications with design community to sales team utilizing CRM system, assigning tasks and action items to applicable Account Managers for conversion of specification to sale\n Maintain and update regional fact-base and contacts of designers, influencers, and code officials Work with local/regional code and approval agencies to obtain necessary approvals\n Understand construction methods and local building codes, as they relate to Hilti products\n Provide input on technical approvals and reports related to Hilti's products\n Active in local organizations of the design and construction community, i.e. CSI, ASCE, Structural Engineer's Association\nWhat You'll Bring\n\n This position is not eligible for employer-sponsored work authorization or visa sponsorship (including initial, transfer, or extension), and candidates must be authorized to work in the United States at the time of application and remain authorized for the duration of employment without the need for sponsorship.\n Bachelor's degree in Structural or Civil Engineering required; Master's degree (technical or business) preferred\n Knowledge of construction methods and practices preferred\n 2 years minimum experience in engineering/construction role preferred\nWhat's In It for You\n\n\nIn addition to a competitive base salary and exciting bonus potential, we offer a robust benefits package including a generous paid time off policy that includes vacation, personal days, health & wellness, and 2 days per year to give back in your local community, paid family leave, educational reimbursement, 401(k) matching, medical/dental/vision coverage, and a variety of other benefits to fit the needs of our employees.\n\n\nThe salary range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skills sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate is for this particular job posting. Please be advised that a different location may result in a different range. At Hilti, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case.
