COOK - FULL TIME - WEEK DAYS/EVENINGS AND WEEKENDS

The Hill at Whitemarsh is an upscale retirement community located in a beautiful setting in Lafayette Hill, PA. Our dining program has an outstanding reputation, and we are seeking an individual to bring culinary talent to a professional creative team. Candidates with experience in fine dining restaurants, country clubs, upscale hotels or similar settings are encouraged to apply. Qualifications The successful candidate will have the following knowledge, skills and abilities: Culinary Degree Preferred Experience working on hot line Experience in fine dining atmosphere – a definite plus Commitment to excellence in food quality Service oriented mindset Professional demeanor Ability to be part of a collaborative team Satisfy resident needs Provide quality in sufficient amounts Ensure timely production Flexibility to work in all areas of kitchen Responsibilities Prepare meals in accordance with portion and quality standards specified in recipes or as otherwise designated by servers within policy. Assist in establishing food service production line to assure meals are prepared on time. Control food usage to minimize waste. Assist in receiving items and taking inventory as required. Maintain a clean, neat and well-organized work area, including but not limited to reach-ins, walk-ins and counters. Actively support Dining Management in educating and enforcing The Hill at Whitemarsh and Dining Departments policies and procedures as well as Federal, State and local sanitation and safety guidelines. Support Executive Chef in the oversight of a well-trained line staff. May assist by performing other kitchen duties as needed.
