We’re growing our manufacturing team in Price, Utah and looking for people who enjoy hands-on work, learning technical skills, and building things that matter.
Previous electrical or manufacturing experience is NOT required. We provide training for entry-level candidates who have the aptitude and desire to learn. If you already have electrical, construction, manufacturing, wiring, or skilled-trades experience, that experience is a major advantage and may qualify you for a higher technician level and starting wage.

Monday–Friday | 6:00 AM–3:30 PM
Every other Friday off
Employees must be available to work a 40-hour workweek and additional hours when business needs require.
What You’ll BuildOur Electrical Manufacturing Technicians help assemble and wire custom electrical equipment from the beginning stages of production through testing and final inspection.
Depending on your experience and assigned work, you may:
- Install electrical components into custom power distribution equipment.
- Build and wire control panels, switchboards, transformers, breakers, relays, PLC systems, and related assemblies.
- Learn to read and work from electrical schematics, blueprints, wiring diagrams, and engineering documentation.
- Route, label, terminate, and test electrical wiring.
- Perform modifications and repairs to electrical assemblies.
- Inspect completed work for accuracy, workmanship, and compliance with project requirements.
- Identify and correct wiring or assembly discrepancies.
- Assist with electrical testing and final equipment verification.
As your skills develop, you may also perform or assist with:
- Continuity testing
- Insulation resistance testing
- Hi-Pot testing
- Operational verification
- Electrical and mechanical troubleshooting
- Final quality inspections
Technicians are expected to follow established procedures and ensure their work meets IE’s safety, engineering, and quality standards.
Tools & EquipmentPrevious experience with electrical tools and equipment is not required, but it is a significant benefit. Candidates with experience using hand tools, power tools, electrical testing equipment, or material-handling equipment are strongly encouraged to apply.
Equipment used in this position may include:
- Wire strippers and crimping tools
- Multimeters and Volt/Ohm meters
- Hi-Pot testing equipment
- Power drills and utility knives
- General hand and power tools
- Forklifts
- Overhead cranes
- Material hoists
Employees will receive applicable training and are expected to safely operate, maintain, and properly store the tools and equipment required for their assigned work.

Education
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent required.
No previous electrical experience is required for entry-level consideration.
Candidates with previous electrical, construction, industrial, manufacturing, mechanical, assembly, blueprint-reading, or skilled-trades experience may qualify for placement at a higher technician level based on their experience and applicable IE competency testing.
Technician Career LevelsElectrician in Training
- 0–2,000 hours of on-the-job electrical experience.
- Entry-level candidates are encouraged to apply.
- Previous experience with tools, electrical work, manufacturing, or blueprint reading is beneficial but not required.
Electrical Technician Level 1
- 2,000+ hours of on-the-job electrician experience.
- Must successfully complete the applicable IE competency assessment with a score of 75% or higher.
Electrical Technician Level 2
- 2,000–4,000 hours of on-the-job electrician experience.
- Must successfully complete the applicable IE competency assessment with a score of 75% or higher.
Electrical Technician Level 3
- 4,000–6,000 hours of on-the-job electrician experience.
- Must successfully complete the applicable IE competency assessment with a score of 75% or higher.
Electrical Technician Level 4
- 8,000+ hours of on-the-job electrician experience.
- Must successfully complete the IE Senior Electrical Technician Competency Test with a score of 75% or higher.
- State Journeyman license in Utah or Colorado.
Depending on experience and technician level, employees will learn or be expected to:
- Read and apply electrical schematics, drawings, blueprints, and technical documentation.
- Translate electrical drawings into completed wiring and assemblies.
- Perform basic electrical calculations involving voltage, resistance, ohms, and fusing capacity.
- Use measurements, fractions, percentages, ratios, and other practical math.
- Follow verbal, written, diagrammed, and scheduled instructions.
- Identify and solve practical assembly and electrical problems.
- Communicate effectively with coworkers, supervisors, and other departments.
- Use a computer to record time and job-related information.
Forklift and overhead crane certifications are NOT required at the time of application.
Employees working in positions requiring this equipment must be able to obtain the applicable OSHA forklift and overhead crane certifications after hire.
For employees in Utah or Colorado who are pursuing a state Journeyman license, a valid apprentice license must be maintained when required for IE to provide qualifying signed work hours.
Physical & Work EnvironmentThis is an active, hands-on manufacturing position. Employees work in an industrial environment around electrical equipment, machinery, tools, and moving equipment.
The position requires the ability to:
- Stand and work on a concrete floor for extended periods.
- Frequently bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, climb, balance, and reach.
- Perform repetitive work using hands and arms.
- Perform frequent lifting and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
- Work safely around electrical equipment and moving mechanical equipment.
- Meet the visual requirements necessary to safely perform detailed electrical assembly work.
