Dental AssistantThis position is located at the White Earth Service Unit, Ogema, Minnesota, Area Indian Health Service.$69,000 - $70,000 a yearScope of WorkFollowing all infection control and OSHA protocols in line with Dental Department policyProtecting all patient health information in HIPAA policiesProviding dental chair-side assistance with all routine dental proceduresPreparing patient for dental procedure to be performedProper cleaning and disinfection of dental operatories as per JSU Dental policyPreparing dental operatory with appropriate instruments and materialsUpdating patients' medical history and other forms and medical history in DentrixUpdating patients' Dentrix notes as directed by dentistsPositioning and exposing dental radiographApplying topical fluoride for patients as directed by dentistProviding toothbrush prophylaxis to pediatric patients as directed by dentistTaking alginate dental impressionsPerforming routine dental laboratory procedures -fabricating dental models and custom trayPreparing dental laboratory prescriptions per dentist instructionsMaintaining sundry supplies in dental operatorySterilization of dental instrumentsProviding patient education - oral hygiene instruction, post-operative wound care, etc.Preparing and explaining various dental consent forms to patientsPerforming minimal dental receptionist duties as neededMeasuring patient vital signsA valid Dental Assistant Certification is preferredWork Schedule: Monday - Friday 8 - 4:30pm with a 30 minute lunch breakBenefits: Health Insurance, 401k, 2 weeks PTO, 7 days paid sick leave, 11 paid federal holidays
