Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) - Providence Hospice

$2,500 Sign-On Bonus

Providence Hospice is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) to join our care team. In this role, you will provide hands-on, patient-centered care focused on comfort, dignity, and quality of life. You will serve patients within our healthcare community at Lutheran Home as well as in private homes and other care facilities throughout the greater community. As part of a multidisciplinary team, you will support personalized care by assisting with daily needs, monitoring patient condition, and reporting changes to the nurse, contributing to overall comfort and well-being, guided by our core values or service, excellence, dignity, fulfillment, grace, and stewardship.

Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

• Assists with daily personal care functions
• Assists with the feeding patients
• Weigh patients using upright, chair and mechanical lift scale
• Assists in turning and positioning
• Transfer patients using proper body mechanics or lifting devices for accident prevention as indicated on the care plan
• Demonstrates appropriate knowledge for safe use of medical equipment (cane, walkers, mechanical lifts, side rails, brace, splint, oxygen)
• Helps keep patients rooms clean and supplied
• Make/change beds (unoccupied and occupied)
• Ambulate patients who require minimal assistance
• Perform skin checks and notify the nurse of any abnormalities in skin integrity
• Answer patients calls and take appropriate action
• Communicates patients requests or concerns in a timely manner
• Support end-of-life care needs as assigned

In this full-time position, your typical schedule will be Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM.

Requirements:

• Minimum age of 18
• Current Missouri CNA Certification
• Valid Driver’s License
• CPR certification required, or ability to obtain certification within 60 days of employment
