Creative Director

LaSalle Network has been hired by an ad agency here in Chicago in their need of a Creative Director for a 3-4 month maternity leave coverage contract starting in October.

This position would require someone willing to come into the downtown Chicago office 2 days a week (or more as needed) consistently throughout the assignment.

Responsibilities:

• Lead creative direction across fully integrated digital campaigns and brand initiatives, with a strong emphasis on design and visual execution.

• Develop and oversee high-quality creative concepts and campaigns across paid media, social, UX/UI, websites, print, and other digital and traditional channels.

• Be hands-on in the design process, contributing directly to creative development and execution rather than operating solely as a strategic or managerial leader.

• Partner closely with copy, strategy, account, and other cross-functional teams to develop cohesive, compelling creative solutions.

• Maintain a high bar for visual quality, craft, consistency, and overall creative taste.

• Present and articulate creative concepts to clients and internal stakeholders, incorporating feedback while protecting the strength of the creative vision.

• Ensure creative work is thoughtfully adapted across channels and touchpoints while maintaining a cohesive brand experience.

• Help guide the team through a broad range of creative deliverables, from campaign-level concepts through final execution.

Requirements:

• Design-first background with strong hands-on design capabilities; this is not an art-direction-only role.

• Proven experience developing fully integrated campaigns across multiple channels, including paid media, social, UX/UI, websites, print, and digital experiences.

• Strong portfolio demonstrating high creative taste, quality, and craftsmanship.

• Experience developing large-scale, fully developed campaigns and a broad range of deliverables.

• Portfolio should demonstrate range across different visual styles, channels, formats, and client/business challenges.

• Hands-on experience with Meta Ads is required.

• Agency experience is highly preferred.

• Ability to move comfortably between big-picture creative thinking and hands-on design execution.

• Strong communication, presentation, collaboration, and client-facing skills.

This position pays $65-$75/hr depending on experience.
