Pulmonary Function Technologist

Clinical Respiratory Care

Provide clinical respiratory care including assessment, treatment, and monitoring of patients across all age groups. Operate and troubleshoot respiratory equipment, support ventilator management, and respond to emergencies. Ensure compliance with hospital policies and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assess and administer respiratory therapies (e.g. nebulizers, oxygen, chest physiotherapy, airway management)
• Assist with ventilator setup, monitoring, weaning, and life support
• Perform and interpret arterial blood gases, oximetry, and bedside pulmonary function tests
• Respond to codes, trauma, and high-risk deliveries for airway and ventilator support
• Educate patients and families on respiratory care and equipment use
• Collaborate with care teams and document patient progress
• Maintain and troubleshoot equipment, support supply management
• Follow all patient safety protocols and hospital procedures

Qualifications:

• Associate degree in Respiratory Therapy or related field required
• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
• Licensed as a Respiratory Care Practitioner in NM
• BLS (within 30 days)
• ACLS (within 1 year)
• 3 years of experience preferred; bilingual skills a plus

Physical & Work Conditions:

• Heavy physical demands (lifting up to 100 lbs)
• Exposure to chemicals, biohazards, and emergency situations
• May require on-call, rotating shifts, holidays, and weekends
• TB testing required upon hire and as needed
