Investments are made on behalf of Goldman Sachs, its employees and clients of the firm through a series of investment vehicles and other strategies.Within AWM, the Finance group supports each asset management business through a variety of functions, including managing the valuation process for each AMW Private business (e.g., recommending appropriate quarter-end equity and debt valuations) and analyzing, budgeting and projecting the performance of each business. This position will be within the AWM Finance group assisting in both the monthly / quarterly valuation process and the budgeting process. POSITION DESCRIPTION:The successful applicant will have an ability to understand financial information, draw relationships and raise issues or concerns. They will have a high degree of integrity, strong attention to detail and be highly motivated and client focused. They will support more senior team members with a variety of items including a range of recurring tasks, project-based work and ad hoc analyses.Specific responsibilities may include:Determining and supporting appropriate fair market values across multiple investing disciplines and geographies Preparing and maintaining multi-year departmental revenue, balance sheet and other risk metric forecasts, involving multiple investment strategies Maintaining working knowledge of significant investments and forecasting assumptions Participating in process improvement initiatives to increase efficiency and effectiveness of the valuation and budgeting process Responding to ad hoc requests and preparing analyses for sameAdditional responsibilities will be based on the needs of the division and the candidate’s specific skillsQUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS:Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or other business disciplineAt least 1 year of experience in a similar roleStrong understanding of capital and debt marketsStrong analytical skills and detail orientationStrong interpersonal and communication skills, oral as well as writtenStrong coordination and organizational skillsAbility to multi-task, meet tight deadlines and handle stressful situationsAbility to work independently in a small team, exhibit initiative and be proactiveAbility to organize and analyze large volumes of informationTeam player, willing to help in areas not explicitly related to job dutiesComfortable working with a manager in a remote locationComfortable working in a fast-paced, high-energy environmentStrong Excel and PowerPoint skillsABOUT GOLDMAN SACHSAt Goldman Sachs, we commit our people, capital and ideas to help our clients, shareholders and the communities we serve to grow.
