Dietary Operations Manager Job Number: 26000367 Organization Veterans Services Georgetown Work Location Southern Ohio Veteran's Home, 2003 Veterans Boulevard, Georgetown, 45121-0000 Primary Location United States of America-OHIO-Brown County Compensation $32.35 per hour Schedule Full-time, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM Primary Job Skill Medical Technical Skills Food Services Management Nursing Food Safety Inspection Professional Skills Attention to Detail Customer Focus Developing Others Problem Solving Confidentiality Benefits Starting hourly pay – $32.35 Scheduled pay increases over years of service Longevity increases beginning at the fifth year Tuition reimbursement up to $5,000 annually Medical coverage starting the first of the month following your start date Free dental & vision Generous benefits package including vacation, sick, holiday, and personal leave Retirement/pension, deferred compensation, credit union benefits Full benefits package available online Key Job Responsibilities Administer and manage the entire food service operation for all shifts at Ohio Veterans Home Georgetown Supervise frontline supervisors and lower‑level food preparation and service staff Oversee fiscal controls of the dietary department Maintain required records per nursing home administration policies and provide education on proper nutritional follow‑up plans by consulting with residents and families Plan and evaluate meals for regular, modified, and special diets, considering available foodstuffs, nutritional values, and cost to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations, treatment plans, and accreditation standards Visit residents and conduct interviews for dietary history and preferences; counsel residents on diets Inspect perishable foods for nutritional composition and quality and ensure proper storage and rotation Consult with Nursing Home Administrator, Dietary Supervisors, and Dietetic Technician to establish plans and procedures for the dietary program Instruct food service personnel in basic dietetic principles and train employees in quality standards, sanitation, and storage Coordinate and maintain communication between the dietary department and medical staff; recommend changes in the dietetic program as needed Oversee ordering of food and supplies from vendors (e.g., paper products, dry goods, frozen food, vegetables, utensils, cookware, sanitation supplies, etc.) Prepare related records and reports Attend and conduct staff meetings; meet with Dietary Supervisors and dietetic technicians to discuss changes or modifications; attend committee meetings Perform all other duties as assigned Qualifications Current licensure as a dietitian issued by the Ohio Board of Dietetics per Section 4759.06 of the Revised Code; 18 months of training or experience in state and federal guidelines and accreditation standards regarding dietetics/nutrition for an agency of employment; 18 months of training or experience in employee training and development. Or equivalent of the minimum class qualifications may be substituted for the experience requirements, but not for the mandated licensure. New hires agree to participate in the State of Ohio Direct Deposit of Paycheck Program per Section 124.151(B) of the Ohio Revised Code. Unless otherwise required by legislation or union contract, starting salary will be set at the lowest rate of the salary range with gradual increases after completing probation and following successful annual performance evaluations. The final applicant selected for this position may be required to submit to urinalysis prior to an appointment to test for illegal drug use. The State will decline to extend a final offer of employment to any applicant with a verified positive test result. Also, an applicant with a positive test result will not be considered for any position with the State of Ohio for a period of one year (not applicable to current state employees). Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a criminal records check as required by Section 3721.121 of the Ohio Revised Code. Applicants who have been convicted of or pleaded guilty to any of the offenses listed in 3721.121 (C)(1)(a) may be excluded from consideration.
