Judicial Branch Security Director

Overview

This position reports to the Director of Materials for the Visually Impaired in the division of Instructional Materials and Educational Technology. Performs moderately complex consultative services and technical assistance work involving needs assessment, order processing, production, distribution, purchasing and redistribution of accessible electronic media, recorded textbooks, braille textbooks and large type textbooks required by students with blindness, visual impairment, dyslexia or other disabilities. Work is performed based on the requirements of the IDEA Reauthorization Act, NIMAS, NIMAC regulations and Section 508. May train others. Works under general supervision, with limited latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.

Education

Graduation from an accredited four‑year college or university.

Experience

In a field related to instructional materials.

Travel

5%.

Substitution

Each additional year of related experience above the required minimum may substitute for education on a year‑for‑year basis.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSA)

Knowledge of:

• Automated databases/spreadsheets/accounting/word processing systems
• Local, state, and federal laws related to the program area
• Public administration and management techniques
• Statistical analysis processes
• Program planning and implementation

Salary

Salary is dependent on qualifications.

Exemption and Work Hours

Positions exempt from the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will earn compensatory time off rather than overtime for hours in excess of 40 per week. May be required to work hours other than 8 to 5. May be required to work weekends and holidays.
