Accounting Manager

Job ID#: 40788 Accounting Manager Location: Houston, TX (Hybrid or Remote for Exceptional Candidates) About the Opportunity Our client is a rapidly growing, multi-location organization seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to join its expanding finance team. This is an excellent opportunity for a CPA with strong technical accounting expertise who enjoys building processes, strengthening internal controls, and leading a high-performing team in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment. This role will partner closely with finance leadership and play a key role in supporting financial reporting, operational accounting, treasury, and strategic growth initiatives. Responsibilities Oversee daily accounting operations, including cash management, bank reconciliations, billing processes, and trust accounting. Manage the month-end and year-end close process, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting. Prepare and review financial statements in accordance with GAAP. Analyze financial results and provide recommendations to improve operational efficiency and profitability. Develop, implement, and maintain accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls. Coordinate with external auditors, banks, and tax advisors to support audits and compliance requirements. Assist with budgeting, forecasting, treasury management, and financial planning initiatives. Support acquisition-related accounting and integration projects. Lead, mentor, and develop members of the accounting team. Utilize ERP and accounting systems, including NetSuite, QuickBooks, and industry-specific software, to support reporting and operational excellence. Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders, vendors, and external business partners. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting required; Master's degree preferred. Active CPA license required. Public accounting experience strongly preferred. 5–10 years of progressive accounting experience. 3–5 years of accounting leadership or management experience. Strong understanding of GAAP, financial reporting, and audit processes. Experience with month-end close, reconciliations, and internal controls. Experience with ERP systems such as NetSuite, QuickBooks, and other accounting software. Advanced Microsoft Excel skills. Excellent analytical, organizational, communication, and leadership abilities. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment while maintaining confidentiality and sound judgment.
