Location: Exeter, RI
Pay Rate: $39.29/hour
Assignment Length: Temporary Assignment through June 30, 2027 Possible Extension
Schedule: Part-Time | 21 Hours Per Week | 3 Days Per Week
Work Setting: Onsite

Premier Staffing Source, Inc. is seeking an experienced Building Maintenance Specialist for a long-term, part-time temporary assignment in Exeter, Rhode Island.

This position performs hands-on maintenance and repairs involving HVAC, plumbing, mechanical, electrical, and general building systems . The role will also assist with facility inspections, contractor coordination, repair estimates, purchasing, and maintenance projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance and repairs on HVAC, plumbing, mechanical, and electrical equipment .
• Perform general building maintenance and repair work.
• Maintain and repair exterior building components, including roofs, siding, exterior lighting, grounds, and signage.
• Identify and assess building damage and determine the scope of necessary repairs.
• Prepare repair estimates as needed.
• Assist with requisitioning maintenance supplies, materials, and equipment.
• Inspect work performed under building service and maintenance contracts.
• Assist with inspections of construction, repair, and maintenance projects.
• Support the bidding process for repair and replacement projects.
• Monitor repair and replacement projects within established budget allocations.
• Prepare simple specifications and basic drawings for maintenance projects.
• Review contractor estimates for repairs and construction work.
• Assist with planning, coordinating, and reviewing work performed by skilled tradespeople and contractors.
• Work with administrative staff to resolve questions involving billing, purchase orders, requisitions, and invoices.
• Communicate effectively with vendors, contractors, management, and other personnel.
• Perform additional facility maintenance duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

• Previous professional experience in building, facility, or property maintenance .
• Working knowledge of general building operations and maintenance practices.
• Working knowledge of materials, tools, and equipment used in building maintenance.
• Experience performing or coordinating repairs involving HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems .
• Ability to identify building maintenance problems and determine appropriate repair needs.
• Ability to prepare basic specifications, estimates, and simple drawings.
• Ability to communicate and work effectively with vendors, contractors, and management.
• Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment within assigned responsibilities.

Education & Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Relevant professional experience in building or facilities maintenance.

An equivalent combination of education and applicable maintenance experience may also be considered.

Schedule

This is a part-time position working approximately 21 hours per week over three days . Exact days are to be determined, and daily work hours may vary based on operational needs and the manager's schedule.

The assignment is currently expected to continue through June 30, 2027 , at which time the ongoing need for the position will be reassessed.
