Radiology Scheduler

Under the regular supervision of the Radiology Diagnostic Chief Technologist, performs a variety of secretarial and clerical duties in the Radiology Department, utilizing knowledge of Radiology systems, hospital regulations, and interdepartmental functions. The main function is to provide Radiology scheduling. Must learn all of the Radiology procedures for scheduling purposes. Must learn the prep included in each procedure. The scheduler has to be competent in ICD 11 terminology for scheduling and pre-cert purposes.

Education and Work Experience:

• High School graduate or equivalent, some college preferred.
• Previous clerical work experience with computer knowledge and basic typing skills.
• Ability to communicate with patient, family, peers and medical personnel.
• Basic Math Skills
• Requires emotional stability and resilience.
• Must be adaptable to change, be decisive, and demonstrate foresight.
• Exhibits organizational and leadership ability. Shows ability to gain and maintain support and respect.
• Ability to concentrate on detailed work with constant interruption; to understand and relate to specific ideas generally, several at a time, and remember multiple tasks given to self and others over long periods of time.

Physical Demands/Work Environment:

• Work requires a variety of physical activities, including moving about within and outside of all hospital properties for long periods of time.
• Must be able to respond quickly and effectively to emergency and non-emergent situations.
• May be required to assist in controlling disorderly conduct or combative patients.
• Must be able to exchange accurate information with patient, family, peers and medical personnel.
