In this role, you will be instrumental in problem solving and reaching solutions ensuring our team delivers exceptional and ground breaking results.Your primary responsibilities are to:Perform research, design, develop, and test electromechanical systems for robotic applicationsApply engineering design process from conceptualization to prototype development and validationPerform modeling, analysis, and simulation of electromechanical systemsDevelop CAD models and drawings of electromechanical assemblies and systemsPerform light fabrication, subsystem assembly, and integration of subsystemsFormulate and perform electromechanical system testsDocument analyses, design, and build test reportsTravel to support field experiments and off-site test programsInteract with and present to customers and work with subcontractors and vendors of technologyOther duties as assignedRequired Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field, or equivalent experienceMinimum 3-5 years of related experience in engineeringProven track record in developing mechanical systemsEffective organizational, planning, and analytical skillsIndependent judgment and problem-solving abilities3D modeling experience (SolidWorks preferred)We especially want to hear from you if you have experience or qualifications in any of the following areas:Experience with Finite Element Analysis with ANSYS and/or SolidWorks SimulationExperience with manufacturing using modern methods including CNC mill and lathe, laser cutters, and 3D printersExperience specifying/selecting electrical components (motors, sensors, etc.) for robotic systemsKnowledge of electrical circuit designExperience with programming for prototype development (Python, Arduino, etc.)Other Requirements: Successful pre-employment background checkThis position will require work on a variety of projects, including projects that involve military/defense applications and/or are funded by military/defense sponsors.Are you interested in joining our versatile team at NREC where you will have a direct impact on operations and meaningful projects?Join a collaborative environment where your hands-on skills, leadership, and mentorship will directly influence operations and inspire the next generation of innovators.Why NREC?At NREC, you will shape the robotics revolution by tackling real-world challenges in agriculture, manufacturing, defense, energy, and much more.
