Payroll Coordinator - Temp-To-Hire

WORK MODEL: Hybrid (onsite Mon, Tue, Wed, remote Thur, Fri)

LOCATION: Huntington Beach, CA

COMPENSATION: $30-32/hour

Responsibilities and Duties

• Maintain payroll records, reporting, and related system updates to support accurate processing and compliance.
• Coordinate with internal departments and multiple locations to collect and validate payroll-related information.
• Research and resolve payroll discrepancies, exceptions, and other pay-related concerns.
• Monitor timekeeping data and follow up on discrepancies, missing details, or approval issues.
• Assist with payroll adjustments, corrections, off-cycle payments, and employee pay updates as needed.
• Ensure payroll information is submitted according to established processing timelines.
• Support adherence to company policies, payroll procedures, and applicable regulatory requirements.
• Assist with additional administrative projects and team support responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications and Skills

• High School Diploma or GED required, Bachelors degree preferred
• 1+ years of Payroll processing experience
• Excel experience, formulas, vlookups and pivot tables preferred
• Timekeeping system experience preferred like Kronos or UKG Workforce Pro Management (Dimensions)
• Must be able to learn CA payroll laws
• Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively both independently and within a collaborative team environment.
• Detail-oriented and analytical with the ability to prioritize competing responsibilities, manage multiple tasks simultaneously, and quickly adapt to new systems and processes.
