Lead Operational Accounting Support Controllership Senior Consultant

Our Deloitte Finance Transformation team practices to help chief financial officers, controllers, and finance teams define and execute their finance and global business services agendas and strategies. You will work with leading-class teams and solutions, helping clients navigate challenging environments, market uncertainty, technology development, and regulatory considerations to unlock value. Your work may span strategy, operations, process design, and technology as we partner with clients to transform finance.

Work You'll Do

As a Project - Senior Consultant, Controllership on the Controllership team, you will be responsible for:

• Review and reconcile journal vouchers for Treasury Financial Manual (TFM), United States Standard General Ledger (USSGL), Governmentwide Treasury Account Symbol Adjusted Trial Balance System (GTAS), and Department of the Treasury posting logic compliance.
• Validate supporting documentation, zero-sum balance, tie-point consistency, line of accounting, transaction attributes, and journal voucher timing.
• Manage recurring accounting operations, including journal voucher logs, issue tracking, Defense Finance and Accounting Service (DFAS) meetings, and follow-up action items.
• Conduct monthly Foreign Military Sales (FMS), International Military Education and Training (IMET), Foreign Military Financing (FMF), and GTAS error analysis and support issue resolution.
• Support standard operating procedure (SOP) and memorandum of understanding (MOU) updates, technical accounting guidance, quarterly and ad hoc management reporting, and broader interagency control activities.

Qualifications

Required :

• Bachelor's degree
• 3+ years of experience reviewing and reconciling journal vouchers in a federal accounting environment
• 3+ years of experience supporting TFM, USSGL, and GTAS reporting or compliance activities
• 3+ years of experience performing financial error analysis, issue resolution, and control support activities
• 3+ years of experience preparing standard operating procedures, memoranda of understanding, or management reporting deliverables
• Ability to travel 0-25%, on average, based on the work you do and the clients and industries/sectors you serve.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future.
• Active Secret security clearance required

The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At Deloitte, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $88,800 to $162,800.
You may also be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program, subject to the rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors, including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance.
