Forklift Driver 2nd Shift

As a Forklift Driver at Van's Kitchen, you play a vital role in supporting the flow of materials throughout our warehouse, freezer, dock, and production areas. Your skill in safely operating forklifts and handling inventory ensures efficient operations, accurate fulfillment, and alignment with our standards for safety, quality, and excellence.

Key Responsibilities

• Safely operate equipment such as lift trucks, pallet jacks & scissor lifts.
• Help maintain a safe & clean work environment throughout facility.
• Labeling, sorting, and relocating items within the warehouse.
• Managing inventory by using scanning system & proper bin allocation.
• Communicates with warehouse clerk to effectively manage & prioritize the shipping schedule regarding all things inbound/outbound.
• Follows & ensuring the proper use of tablets & scanners for all warehouse operations.
• Documentation of material usage using detailed information.
• Occasionally ensures warehouse clerk correctly documents items in the "Receiving Log" – correct UofM, LOT#, vendor, inspections etc.
• Identify & report any damages, shortages, or quality deficiencies of materials.
• Conduct complete inventory counts as needed upon supervisor request. In the absence of a forklift driver, another operator will cover their responsibilities if needed.
• Check freezer and coolers units to ensure all equipment is working efficiently & report any unusual signs.
• Walk inside the freezers, coolers, and warehouse areas to verify that everything is clean and organized with its respective label.
• Other duties as requested by management

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

Certifications & Skill Requirements

• Forklift certification
• RF scanner experience
• Ability to read & write clearly

Qualifications

• Prior forklift experience is necessary.
• Prior experience in warehousing/manufacturing is helpful.
• Must be detail-oriented and able to multi-task well.
• Understanding of food safety regulations (e.g., FDA, USDA) and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
• Frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

Work Environment

• Dock/Warehouse environment
• Must be able to stand, walk, kneel, and bend for virtually entire shift.
• Occasionally required to balance or climb.
• Frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
• Must be willing to work in cold, wet, hot, and humid environments.
• Must be able to operate in cold temperatures (-10 to 20 degrees).
• Occasionally required to balance or climb.
• Frequently exposed to airborne particles
