Registered Nurse (RN) Labor and Delivery- PRN Leesburg, VA, United States Job Identification: 683246 Job Schedule: Part time Location: Inova Loudoun Hospital Inova Loudoun Hospital is looking for a dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) to join the Labor and Delivery Unit. Job Responsibilities Provides safe, compassionate, and evidence‑based nursing care in a patient‑ and family‑centered manner. Performs thorough patient assessments, interprets data, and identifies care priorities. Develops and implements individualized plans of care to achieve optimal patient outcomes. Evaluates patient progress, anticipates changes, and adjusts care plans accordingly. Coordinates care and discharge planning with the healthcare team and community resources. Advocates for patients’ rights and ensures their needs and preferences are respected. Maintains accurate and timely documentation in compliance with standards. Collaborates and communicates effectively with physicians, nurses, and other disciplines. Serves as a clinical resource, mentor, and preceptor to peers and new staff. Engages in professional growth, continuing education, and quality improvement initiatives. Minimum Qualifications Work schedule: PRN staff must work 4 shifts (48 hours) every 6 weeks, including 1 weekend shift, 12 hours of on‑call, and 1 summer and 1 winter holiday; schedule may be adjusted as needed to meet operational needs of the unit. Education: BSN from an accredited school of nursing. If RN has an Associate’s Degree (ADN); must complete BSN within 5 years of start date. Experience: Required 1 year of experience as a Registered Nurse in a critical care setting or completion of a critical care fellowship. Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider certification from the American Heart Association required upon start. For Critical Care Units: Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support – within 6 months; For Pediatric Units: Pediatric Advanced Life Support – within 6 months; For Infusion Center Units: Obtain chemo card – within 3 months of hire. Licensure: Licensed or eligible for licensure in the Commonwealth of Virginia as a Registered Nurse or an active multi‑state Registered Nurse license. Preferred Qualifications Two years of recent Registered Nurse (RN) inpatient experience on a Labor and Delivery Unit. Inova Health System is an Equal Opportunity employer.
