About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: PCU Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum years of experience required License: Active RN License Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIH Must-Have: - Experience in stepdown or progressive care unit. - Ventilator experience. - Online EKG tele competency assessment passed before starting. - EPIC experience. - Ability to work every other weekend and holiday. Description: This position requires clinical nursing experience in a progressive care unit. Candidates must have a patient ratio experience clearly detailed in their application. ICU experience does not count towards stepdown/PCU experience. The targeted patient ratios are 1:4-6. The unit participates in a team nursing model where RNs, LPNs, and PCTs work together to care for a group of patients. This model aims to improve workload and patient care. Nurses may function in either team nursing or primary nursing depending on unit needs. Travelers may be required to float to different units as needed. Floating may include high-risk respiratory units. The unit is a mixed acuity neuroscience intermediate care unit. Staff is responsible for caring for patients with various neurological conditions, including strokes and seizures. Special procedures may include the management of high flow nasal cannula, bipaps, and ventilators. Nurses will work collaboratively with an interdisciplinary team. Requested time off must be submitted with the application and is subject to approval. No additional requests for time off will be accepted after submission. Travelers are not eligible for employee incentives and must comply with unit-specific guidelines. The role requires proficiency in various nursing skills to manage diverse patient needs. All candidates must be prepared to complete specific health and competency requirements within set timelines after signing the contract.
