Forensic Structural Engineer, P.E.

Job Overview EFI Global is seeking a dedicated Professional Engineer licensed in Montana to join our Montana forensic engineering team. The role focuses on structural failure analysis and investigation for commercial, residential, and industrial buildings. Primary Purpose Responsible for investigating events, systems, devices, and failures and providing expert opinions. Key Responsibilities Survey losses and loss scenes at residential and commercial buildings. Conduct investigations to determine scope of damage. Analyze and document failure analysis and causation of failures. Collaborate with Fire Investigators to produce detailed reports outlining cause and origin of losses. Serve as expert witness in court and/or depositions. Document and maintain billable hours on a time and expense basis. Collaborate with national forensic experts to leverage experiences and assist on projects. Qualifications Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university. Professional Engineering (PE) license in Montana; multi‑state licensing preferred. Six (6) years of experience or equivalent combination of experience and education. Experience in structural failure analysis, storm and roof damage assessments, building envelope investigations, and evaluating structural collapses. Strong technical proficiency, industry knowledge, and professional integrity. Work Environment Reasonable accommodations considered where appropriate. Physical Requirements Ability to stand, walk, kneel, squat, bend, and work outdoors in various weather conditions. Ability to lift/carry up to 50 pounds, push/pull up to 100 pounds, and drive up to 4 hours per day.
