Degree in Speech-Language Pathology, active SLP license and 1+ year of Speech-Language Pathology experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
Step into an impactful role supporting students’ communication needs within a vibrant K-12 setting this fall semester. This contract opportunity spans from mid-September to mid-December and covers a maternity leave, offering full-time hours—37.5 per week—in a collaborative school environment near Des Plaines, IL.
The ideal candidate is an experienced Speech-Language Pathologist with a background in school-based practice and a passion for helping diverse learners reach their fullest potential. This role is suited for professionals who can seamlessly step in and deliver high-quality services. Please note: CFs (Clinical Fellows) are not eligible for this position.
Desired Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology
- Current IL state licensure and ASHA CCCs (Certificate of Clinical Competence)
- Previous school-based SLP experience required
- Demonstrated expertise providing services to K-12 students with a variety of speech, language, and communication needs
- Comfortable collaborating with educators, families, and support staff
- Excellent organizational, documentation, and communication skills
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide speech and language assessments, develop individualized goals, and implement evidence-based interventions for K-12 students
- Maintain up-to-date documentation in accordance with district and legal standards
- Participate in multi-disciplinary team meetings and help develop IEPs
- Consult with teachers and families to support student growth and classroom integration
- Adapt therapy delivery to meet each student’s needs and learning environment
