Senior Accountant – Hybrid in Savage, MDCFS is partnering with a client in the manufacturing industry to hire a hands-on Senior Accountant to join a growing organization. This is a high-impact role supporting both finance and operations, with a strong emphasis on cost accounting, inventory, and production-related financial reporting.The ideal candidate will bring true senior-level ownership of the close process and a deep understanding of how accounting integrates with manufacturing operations.Key Responsibilities for the Senior Accountant:Drive the month-end close process, including preparation of journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial analysisMaintain ownership of core general ledger accounts such as fixed assets, capital expenditures, cash, prepaids, and inventory-related balancesAssist with accounting activities tied to inventory and manufacturing operationsReview and analyze commission calculations to ensure proper expense recognitionContribute to SOX compliance efforts, including audit support, control testing, and remediation activitiesSupport federal and state tax filings, as well as year-end reporting requirementsOversee unclaimed property compliance and reportingDrive continuous improvement initiatives to streamline processes and reduce costsParticipate in system upgrades, ERP integrations, and various cross-functional projectsQualifications for the Senior Accountant:Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance preferred4–5 years of progressive accounting experienceStrong, hands-on manufacturing accounting experience including:Cost accountingInventory accounting and WIPSolid understanding of GAAPExperience using SAP or Oracle a plusStrong Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, analysis)A detail-oriented professional who thrives in a fast-paced, production-driven environmentStrong analytical mindset with the ability to work cross-functionally with operationsSalary: $80,000-$110,000Schedule: M-F hybrid work schedule in Savage, MD
