Data Engineer

Position Summary Data Engineer – Aetna Resources LLC., a CVS Health company – located in Woonsocket, RI. Responsibilities Develop large‑scale data structures and pipelines to organize, collect, and standardize data to generate insights and address reporting needs. Write ETL (Extract / Transform / Load) processes, design database systems, and develop tools for real‑time and offline analytic processing to improve and expand existing systems. Collaborate with Data Science team to transform data and integrate algorithms and models into automated processes. Test, maintain, and troubleshoot data systems. Leverage Hadoop architecture, HDFS commands, and query optimization to build data pipelines. Use Python, Java, or similar languages to build robust data pipelines and dynamic systems. Build data marts and data models to support Data Science and other internal customers. Integrate data from a variety of sources, ensuring adherence to data quality and accessibility standards. Analyze current IT environments to identify and assess critical capabilities and recommend solutions. Experiment with available tools and advise on new tools to provide optimal solutions. Requirements Bachelor’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Data Analytics, Engineering, or a related field. Five (5) years’ experience in the role or a related occupation. Five (5) years’ experience with CI/CD (e.g., Jenkins, GIT, DevOps). Programming in Java, Python, or R. Agile methodologies or SAFe Software Development Principles. Using JIRA, Rally, or Confluence. Databases: Oracle, Teradata, or DB2. Spark, PySpark, or Scala. Domain support for healthcare or retail organizations. Experience with Extract / Transform / Load (ETL) processes. Relational database concepts. Data warehousing. End‑to‑end data science lifecycle / workflow knowledge. Pay Range $179,296.00 to $179,296.00 per year (base). Additional bonus, commission or short‑term incentive program and equity award may apply.
