Senior Business Analyst - HL7 (Health Level Standard)

Job Summary Instrument Interface Specialist. This position is a facilitator and a liaison between Business and IT for Instrumentation changes and LIS changes related to instrumentation. It requires a broad understanding of laboratory instrumentation, middleware utilized for instrumentation, business processes related to validating and processing orders/results, and requirements gathering/documenting concepts. An instrument interface specialist will collaborate with Product Management, Solution Architects, Business Partners, Application Development, and Software Quality Assurance Teams throughout the project execution process to drive the creation of business requirements documentation, contribute subject matter expertise, and support user acceptance testing. Key Responsibilities Performs and facilitates research and testing, provides overall project leadership to ensure instrument interfaces conform to vendor and Quest specifications/requirements. Responsible for multiple implementations or conversion projects. Participates in information gathering for interface requirements. Educates and directly interacts with stakeholders to help them understand the benefits and limitations of their specific Instrument Interface during implementation. Collaborates with the PMO, Product Management, Solution Architects, Business Partners, Application Development, and Software Quality Assurance Teams to understand scope, solutions, constraints, and risks. Designs and oversees interface implementation project plan. Provides project status updates. Provides communications such as go‑live notices, support documentation and operational checklists to internal organization relative to any new or change to existing client interface. Implies communication scripts and protocols to include dialup, VPN, frame and web services. Provides 3rd‑tier support (as defined in the Support SOP) to EMR/LIS‑Interface related problems. Provides post‑implementation support. Responsible for escalating implementation and support issues to appropriate persons or groups for resolution. Coordinates user‑group sessions with EMR/LIS‑Interfaced clients and internal staff to provide a forum for exchanging ideas to improve overall delivery of services. Experience using Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project, and Excel (a plus). Experience with multiple instrument communication standards such as ASTM/HL7. Experience with other common data formats such as JSON, XML and SQL (preferred). Experience with Web Services (preferred). Experience interfacing instruments with Antrim‑based laboratory information systems (highly preferred). Ability to read/write basic commands in Cache/Iris‑based systems. Understanding of Cache/Iris‑based database systems and their global/class structures. Experience interfacing instruments via middleware with Epic‑based information systems (a plus). Familiarity with support/maintenance of intermediary devices used in instrument communication (e.g., terminal servers, file transfer systems).
